I was getting ready for Winter as early as October last year.
- Because more than five weeks prior to that, all of us were experiencing record lows plus hectic conditions outdoors.
I was snowed in at my new home multiple times plus nearly ran out of firewood at 1 point. That’s why I started cutting wood in October for this past Winter season. I expected another onslaught with power outages plus dangerous roadways. Weekends were spent piling chopped firewood in my garage. By the time I was finished, I had two entire cords of chopped wood. After that chore was completed, I maintained my big snow blower. Periodically shoveling a driveway by hand is an efficient use of time. It’s care about mowing a immense turf with a weedwacker. But if you don’t keep your snow blower maintained, you’ll find 1 day that it won’t start no matter what you do. Despite all of my preparations for this year’s Winter season, few of them were necessary. It seems care about all of us were spared this time around, facing a Winter that was 1 of the mildest in recent years. Sure, all of us were hit by two intense Winter storms in January plus December, however the length of the season was fairly short. We’re seeing the first days of Springtime in a time when all of us are usually dealing with heavy snowfall plus freezing rapidly increasing temperatures. All of the snow has melted plus I’m starting to see my turf plus my plants come back to life. Whatever firewood I didn’t use can be saved for next year. I’m just cheerful that I didn’t freeze so much while in the past more than five weeks. Regardless of how things played out, I’m cheerful that I was responsible enough to prepare for the worst.
