Back in the summer when we got a new central air conditioning system installed in our house, the eight track company gave us a free air conditioning cover to use during the winter.
Of course, we didn’t put it on during the summer because we were still using our new air conditioning system.
We just assumed that it would fit our new A/C unit and so we kept the cover out in the garage until the weather started cooling off recently. Well, over the past few weeks, the weather has really started cooling off around here and this weekend we are supposed to be getting some snow. I decided that it would be a good time for me to go ahead and put the cover on our new air conditioning system to protect it from the elements. I went out to the garage and searched for the air conditioning cover until I finally found it. Then I headed out to the backyard to cover up the A/C unit that’s back behind the garage. We paid a small fortune for our new high efficiency air conditioning system and so we really wanted to make sure that it was protected during the winter when it’s not going to be in use. I opened up the cover and went to put it on, and that’s when I realized that the free air conditioning cover was nothing more than a big piece of plastic. Worse than that, it wasn’t even nice, heavy duty plastic. It was more like a sandwich bag! Plus it was too small for the air conditioning unit. The whole thing was just a joke and I ended up calling the HVAC company to complain about it.
