This year has been both eye-opening, frightening, and inspirational for me.
I’ve gone through a lot of major life changes, including leaving a highly abusive and toxic relationship.
In the wake of my new Freedom, I’ve been intensively focused on rebuilding my life in a way that makes sense for me. Instead of living by obligation, I have been trying to figure out what my purpose on this planet is. Earlier this year, it became clear that finding a good job was not part of my current life path. I was applying for new positions left and right, trying to find work that actually gave me meaning and excitement in my life. The result was receiving zero callbacks. That’s when I started looking into continuing my adult education. I realized it was a good time for me to get a professional certification and switch gears in my career. I was looking at human resources and paralegal certificate programs for a while because I assumed I needed to be working in an office. A few days later, a coworker of mine asked if I had ever considered being a professional Heating and Cooling technician. I told him, of course I had not. I barely knew anything about Heating and Cooling equipment. I could operate my own thermostat to change the indoor air temperature, but I didn’t even know how to set the program or change out my air filter. He continued talking about the attractive aspects of the heating and cooling industry, anyways. He told me that as far as professional certifications went, becoming an HVAC technician was one of the most profitable options out there.I don’t know if I’m destined to be an HVAC Tech, but I’m looking into the Heating and Cooling certification.
