Colder coffee shops

This morning I went out for coffee with my friend Melissa, whom I haven’t seen in a pretty long time. We decided to have a breakfast date since all of our kids would be in school and we could have a leisurely breakfast at our local coffee shop. It’s a beautiful fall day, and we both had on jeans and sweaters, since the outside temperature has finally started to drop and get cooler. Well, the person in charge of the thermostat inside the coffee shop apparently did not get the memo about the outdoor temperature, because the inside air quality in there was just crazy. We walked in the door and the air conditioning immediately hit us in the face! I couldn’t believe that they had the A/C cranked up and running full blast in the coffee shop on this cool and crisp autumn day. Melissa and I were really glad that we had on sweaters and jeans because the temperature in there had to be set somewhere in the mid-sixties. I started to wonder if maybe they had the thermostat set so low because they were trying to sell extra coffee and chai teas in order to warm the customers up! I don’t know, but when it’s fall outside, you really want to go somewhere cozy and sip on your coffee and have a leisurely breakfast. You don’t want your teeth to be chattering from an overabundance of air conditioning! Melissa and I ended up leaving and heading to a park down the street instead. At least outside, the temperature wasn’t quite as cold!
