I can’t say that I’m the most empathetic person you’ve ever met… I love to take care of myself, and guess that other people will do the same, then all of us all have to learn the same skills and responsibilities, so just get started and stop complaining already.
I have a hard time feeling bad for anybody who causes their own problems, then to be frank, I don’t have to hear about it when everything falls apart! Recently, I was hanging around in the office when 1 of my co-workers walked in and started crying! She was genuinely bawling and it was pretty dramatic to watch, but when she finally calmed down and the two of us were able to figure out what was wrong, it was even more dramatic.
I mean, who cries over air conditioner? My co-worker does, but on this particular morning, she was bawling her eyes out because her central air conditioner program at apartment had failed earlier that morning. She said she had no program what to do about the cooling program and she was at her wit’s end without any up-to-date air temperature control at home. It was the dead of summer, so the mornings were hot and humid… For a few moments, I genuinely felt bad about her situation and wanted to try to assist with the broken HVAC plan. As I talked to her for longer, however, I finally realized that she was to blame for this entire scenario. Actually, she had never ran tests on her air conditioner unit in 7 years. She left the cooling program cranked down to 62 degrees and went out of town last week. When she returned, the AC was suddenly broken, however nevermind.
