I am an HVAC technician, and I definitely feel for people who are in a struggle with various HVAC system issues.
This one time, I took a job at a church where the pastor was explaining that they were in a major financial struggle.
I was a little skeptical at first because I figured they had to make a lot of money from people donating to the church. He was saying that members of the church donated alright but most were in severe financial hardships and could only give so much. Not to mention, he said that a lot of the money had to go towards other maintenance and repairs around the church building. Including the costs of energy bills, I could understand how there was a pretty major struggle with these people. He was telling me how much they could pay, and it was about half the cost that we would ask for to take care of this type of job. So I had a long conversation with my boss about it. I was saying that these people at this church needed their HVAC system up and running and it wouldn’t be right to leave them out in the cold. My boss was understanding and said we would accept the price and help them out. When I told the pastor this news, he lit up and was so pleased. He kept saying “God bless you” and I proceeded to take care of the job. It took a lot of work, but I was able to get it all handled on my own. When everything was working properly, the pastor announced to all the members about what I did for them and everybody was so thankful, they send all kinds of gift baskets to me and my family and even my boss. We were just glad to help those people out.
