I have a list of the worst things in life.
Moving, getting divorced and having the HVAC break down are in the top five.
I loathe packing up an entire house. And, it isn’t just the packing. Then comes all the cleaning that has to be done before you lock the door for the last time. I have repeated this process many times over my life. The industry I am a part of requires frequent moves. However, the level of stress never dissipates. There just isn’t any help with a transfer anymore. It ends up all on you and it is a very tough endeavor. Fortunately, I have always had local friends who will pitch in where they can to help me get moved. However, just packing is only part of it. There are a zillion other details to take care of. We are going from the South to the North this time. So, finding a quality HVAC company will be a very high priority. I will be in the land of the furnace after all these years enjoying the versatility of the heat pump. I know next to nothing about furnaces. With winter not far off, I have to be sure that the HVAC system in our new place is serviced and ready to go. I hate cold winters. My only saving grace is to have quality HVAC to at least keep me cozy in my new home. The HVAC company I have been using down here has graciously offered to locate a well respected heating and cooling company in the town we’re moving to. They are one of the many things that I will be missing as we move yet again.
