I find that when I have an unsolvable problem, I take a nap.
I know that sounds odd, but I tend to get my best ideas when I am sleeping.
I wake up in the middle of the night with the answer to questions I had been puzzling over all day. Unfortunately, if I don’t write things down right away, by morning I have forgotten the answers. Luckily for humanity, not everyone forgets their dreams. If it weren’t for dreams and people remembering, many of our earlier discoveries may have never been discovered. Willis Haviland Carrier is one of my favorite inventors of all time. He invented what has become the modern air conditioner back in the early 1900”s. He didn’t think the air conditioner up in a dream, but it wasn’t an accident either. After spending years in school, he realized that it would be possible to remove humidity from the indoors air. Along with removing the humidity, he was also able to create a cooling effect. Can you imagine what it would be like today if Mr. Carrier had not figured this out. Although Carrier Corp. started in 1915, it is still one of the top AC companies in the world. I am glad that he went to school and came up with air conditioning. I can’t imagine what our life would be like if we didn’t have it to keep us cool in the summer. I believe that Carrier should be a name that is up there with Alexander Graham Bell, and Benjamin Franklin. Electricity, the telephone and air conditioning are three of my favorite things in life..
