Dropping air conditioner down the stairs

When our sibling took a task down south & got ready to move, he offered me his window air conditioner, in his current location, the warm weather requires central air conditioner. Where I live in the north, our summer time weather respectfully only lasts a couple of weeks, then because the temperature can climb into the high eighties with excessive humidity, a window air conditioner in the living room is absolutely helpful; Although our sibling’s air conditioner was super old, I was enthusiastic to get it. I was a little surprised by how bulky & heavy the component was. I found it rather difficult to lift the component up onto the window sill. At the end of the summer, when the weather cooled off, I struggled to get the air conditioner up the attic stairs for storage. I needed to lift it onto 1 stair at a time, the next Spring, when the outside temperature once again started to heat up, I dreaded carry the air conditioner down the stairs. I decided to set the component on a blanket, drag it across the floor & then bump it down 1 stair at a time, however unblessedly, I lost control of the air conditioner & it rolled all the way down the attic stairs. The component smashed into a million pieces. Unwilling to go separate from a cooling component in our living room, I headed to the condo improvement store & bought 1. I didn’t realize that moder window air conditioners are so reasonably priced, compact & lightweight. The 1 I bought is also way more powerful than the 1 I broke.
