Fishing trip nearly ruined by broken air conditioner

I like to fish.

Whenever I get the opportunity, I go fishing.

Last July, I went with a pair of buddies of mine to a local lake. We rented a cottage by the lake that includes access to a dock and we brought my boat. The first day we were there, we went straight out on the water. We spent the whole day on the boat and I caught at 3 bass. Everybody had plenty of fish in the cooler by the time we headed back to the dock. We cleaned the fish for dinner. For our first day, we decided to cook up the bass in celebration. After a few beers, we went to bed early because we wanted an early start in the morning. We planned to hit the lake again and spend the whole day fishing. Waking up in the morning, we started to pack up our gear. However, we then realized that the A/C system was not working. I checked the thermostat and the air filter. We looked over the inside and outside components. Since none of us are licensed HVAC contractors, we had no idea what we were doing. We contacted the owner of the cottage and he said he’d take care of it. So we headed out on the boat and spent the day on the lake as planned. When we returned, there was an HVAC technician working on the air conditioner. He said he’d been there all day trying to get it started. He apparently needed to replace a bunch of the parts. We were thankful that he was willing to stick with it. We didn’t want to sleep in a cottage with no air conditioning. By the time he got the air conditioner running, we’d already cooked our dinner and we invited him to join us.
