Forgetfulness and air filters

All of us all have our strengths and weaknesses.

In fact, some people are quite talented or remarkable in one certain way, but not so good at several other things.

Take my sibling for instance. He’s a math whiz and an accountant; Nobody knows how to balance a budget or be as frugal with their currency as he is, at least no one I know. However, he has several clients and he is often undoubtedly busy to the point where he forgets certain things. I visited him in his lake house while in one of his free afternoons one Saturday, a couple weeks ago. It was the summertime, and I noticed a distinct lack of cool air coming from his vents. There was also this musty aroma throughout the house. As both of us talked, I eventually mentioned how subpar his a/c was. He looked at myself and others and blinked as if he had not noticed it until I pointed it out. He looked at myself and others and said, you suppose you are right. I was not sure what was wrong with his a/c unit, however I casually mentioned the air filter. He slapped his forehead and said, “That’s it!” It had been far too long since he had changed out the air filter for a new one. He had become so focused on his work, that he barely noticed he wasn’t getting undoubtedly good airflow anymore. If it was my home, you can bet I would have noticed a lot sooner! There is nothing in the world that would consume my attention enough for myself and others to not notice when my a/c is acting up, because of how much I rely on it!
