I am updating my backyard shed to be a work out place for me.
I ripped down the drywall to insulate and replace with new.
I got brand new windows installed and a better overhead light fixture. The last step is that I need some type of HVAC unit. A lot of people are telling me to just get a window unit. You can get just window air conditioning or a better unit that does both heating and cooling. I don’t know if I like the idea of hiding my brand new windows with a bulky unit. There are other HVAC machines that sit on the ground and vent outside. They look really terrible and will take up floor space that I need to work out. I have been leaning towards calling a professional HVAC company and getting a ductless mini split installed in the shed. It will cost quite a bit of money though. The unit will be mounted high on my wall and out of the way. It won’t take up any space and look very modern. Also, my one mini split could handle the shed no problem. I could have quality heating in the winter or heavy duty AC in the summer. There would be no day that I could not work out. However, I would spend a couple of grand to have climate control in a shed that I use one hour everyday. Is it really worth spending that kind of money for heating and cooling? I wonder how long the mini split will last. If I keep it long enough then it would be worth the investment.
