When I was a child, our parents moved us from the southern states, up north, but i don’t have much memory of the southern states, however I remember it was much better than the northern states.
I remember a lot of complaining to our parents about the cold weather, & they told myself and others I would get used to it.
I never did, living in the north & constantly having snow & blizzards was horrible. I hated every minute of it, & badly wished our parents never moved, the oil furnace system the two of us had did a good task of heating the new home up, however I was regularly tasked to go & shovel snow, so after that the two of us would be stuck out in the cold again… When I was older, I moved out & right back down south with our girlfriend. There, I was greeted with the sizzling & sunny weather which I missed. I absolutely didn’t regret our move, & as the years went by, I began to forget about how bad the icy cold easily was. It wasn’t until our girlfriend & I went back up north to visit our parents, that I was given a severe reminder of the unforgiving cold. The entire time I was there, I kept asking for the gas furnace to be turned up. My parents would regularly fumble with the heating device, but it never felt any warmer. When the two of us stayed at our hotel, I had the furnace on full blast as well. I could never get sizzling enough, even with the Heating & A/C machine. It was only another reminder why I was glad I didn’t live in the northern states anymore.
