I was raised on a farm in the west.
- It was pretty much what people would expect.
Early to bed, early to rise, harsh chores, lots of dogs. I absolutely kind of loved it, however I can see how some men and women wouldn’t. So like my little brother, he was never comfortable on the farm, from when he was first born he didn’t like it. All through our early years he constantly said he would move away as soon as he could, and he followed through on that at age 19! My brother studied a bunch to get a scholarship, however even with this folks still couldn’t pay the rest of tuition, so he went to trade school for Heating and Air Conditioning repair instead. It wasn’t any certain degree he was looking for, he just wanted a way to live away from the farm, and heating and cooling repair could give that to him. My bro spent 8 weeks studying and taking classes before passing the Heating and Air Conditioning certification test and being certified as a field tech. After that he still had to do some part time work with an air conditioning company, however it wasn’t an unpaid job so he was ecstatic about that. I was just so proud of him, striking out on his own like that, and the first time he drove out to visit in his Heating and Air Conditioning repair van I think every one of us were all shocked by it. My brother gave our outdated central ac plan a much needed tune-up, and told us it was due for a full wipe down.
