Heating with a radiator

Well, I should have known that this idea would not work out very well. It seems like no matter how much I try to make solid arrangements for going to see people from out of town, it seems I’m doomed to have something happen or have the worst sleep. This most recent sleep experience was spent at one of my older friends’ apartment in Chicago, after attending a broadway show. I carefully selected which friends to stay with & chose wisely between 2 top contenders, or so I thought, but of course, I didn’t anticipate having to experience the radiator from hell. This awful radiator was about 3 feet away from my head. When I was headed to sleep I chose to sleep on the couch thinking it would be a good idea. I pulled a single blanket over my body, hoping that I wouldn’t be too frosty without a heavy comforter on. Within about an hour, I was drenched in complete sweat. I woke up feeling like everything was boiling inside of my body, & immediately wondered what was going on with the indoor air temperature. I couldn’t believe that the heat was radiating right near the top of my head. The temperature was sizzling and making we sweat a ton. When I took a look around, I noticed the radiator right by my head for the first time, & felt this aura of burning sizzling air that surrounded my body. I pushed the couch to the other side of the room, cracked the window in the living room & let the frosty air rush over my sweaty body. The next day my friend apologized and said “sorry about the radiator, it gets actually very hot down here.” I agreed and told them how awful I was sweating despite the brutal Chicago winter.
