Did you know that most foreign cars cannot legally be sold in the USA? A great example is the Japanese domestic market vehicles. My friends and I grew up playing video games like Need for Speed Most Wanted, Gran Turismo, and Forza. These games had the coolest and most interesting cars available on the market. One of my favorite cars to drive was a souped up Nissan Skyline R34. The car was fast and pretty. When I was old enough to buy a car, I started looking for a Nissan Skyline R34. I was really disappointed when I found out that the R34 cannot be legally obtained in our country. There is actually a handful of foreign cars that still can’t be bought or sold in our country. These cars include the Nissan R34, Toyota Mark II, and the Suzuki Jimny. There are dozens of JDM importers in this country, and they can help you find the perfect car or truck in your budget. You can also contact a dealer overseas and work with them directly. The laws are important and you should be very familiar with the 25 year exemption rule This is one of the ways to get a JDM vehicle here. If you don’t follow the laws, you could face having your brand new car impounded, or worse, it could never be released from customs. That’s a waste of money, and it happens more frequently that you would imagine. There are thousands of JDM cars in cargo areas all up and down the coast line, because they were illegally or improperly imported.
