Learning through trial and error can just be a part of life and the way things go.
For sure, I’ve learned some very important lessons by failing or making mistakes.
Sometimes, that’s been the very best way for me to understand something. At the same time, when you don’t have to learn by failing, it’s best not to. That’s exactly the advice I wish I had followed when I decided to self diagnose the HVAC equipment. I’m still trying to unpack the reasons behind what I was doing there. It’s really just crazy when you think about it. But I came home late on a Friday evening to a house that was absent of HVAC cooling. Normally, I’m never late on Friday but I got stuck inside the zone controlled HVAC of the office over some matters that needed immediate attention. So, I wasn’t in the best mood when I got inside my house to find the air conditioning not working. Now, the HVAC equipment was running but there was no HVAC cooling being produces. I checked the thermostat and it was just as it should be. That’s when I should have called the HVAC professionals. But I thought maybe since the HVAC unit was running normally, perhaps it just needed a recharge. So I proceeded to buy one and give that a try. Of course, it went about the way one would figure as I’m so not an HVAC technician. I messed things up even worse and ended up having to call the HVAC company anyway. That was a lesson I really didn’t have to learn the hard way. But I sure will leave the HVAC equipment to the HVAC professionals from now on.
