I have a fairly small house.
At just under 1000 square feet, there are several study rooms, one bathroom, and an all-in-one living room, living room, and study room that blend together at the center of the house, however the living room is right up by the front door and you pass through the dining section as you make your way toward the study room in the far back.
It’s almost love an L-shape with the living room being inside the conjoining vertex. I had an amazing space heating system that I used for years with no trouble. It didn’t consume too much electricity and was considerably more efficient than my forced air electric oil furnace. Sadly, that space heating system finally broke after multiple years of continual use and I couldn’t find the same model again no matter what store I looked at. I purchased the best thing I could find that seemed the closest to the model I had before, however I ran the component for a month when it started to melt the inside of my electrical outlet where the metal contacts for the cord are inserted. If I hadn’t been laying next to it as it happened, my house no doubt would have caught on fire. Now I’m wary of trying any other space heating system at this point and am talking with residential Heating, Ventilation and A/C dealers about my chances beyond simply forced air oil furnaces. When I l gained that you can use heat pumps in conjunction with ductless mini splits, I became seriously intrigued. The replace would add some equity to the house, potentially outpacing the cost of the upgrade altogether. I just have the difficult task of deciding what corporation and model I want to invest my cash in. With so many chances and dealers available, I can’t seem to finally pull the trigger and set an upgrade date.
