I don't want to miss her birthday

I am terrible when it comes to driving.

I have such a hard time with directions that I went out and bought a GPS app to put in my car.

I have always been one to get lost when I had to go more than half an hour away from home. They keep telling me that technology has made travel foolproof, but apparently they know the difference between five hundred feet and turn now. A friend of mine was having a birthday party this past weekend. She invited me to the party which happened to be in Tampa Bay. She lives in Tampa Bay which makes it easy for her, but I don’t. I had to leave from school and head to Tampa Bay, which was over an hour away. I left two hours in advance of the party, thinking it would give me plenty of time to get there and not be late. I was really thrown when I thought I was running on time and then I hit a traffic jam. There were ambulances, police cars and even fire trucks, well over a mile away from the accident. I sat in that traffic jam for nearly four hours. I wanted to be at the party on time, but now I knew that there was no way I was going to make it to the party. When I finally reached Tampa Bay and I got to the bistro, I was surprised to find out that my friend was still there waiting for me. She said she didn’t really expect me to make it on time.
