I have to lay down and rest

If you’re like me, you probably don’t give a single thought to your furnace system during the summertime. As a matter of fact, sometimes I even forget that I have a heating system down in the basement in the furnace room! When the weather is nice, the last thing you want to be reminded of is ice and snow and super high heating and utility bills. But honestly, one of the best things to do for ensuring a well functioning heating system is to do furnace maintenance and tune-ups throughout the year. It’s the same as getting an oil and filter change for your car. You don’t wait until your car is torn up before you take it in for service, and it’s the same thing when it comes to your heating unit. You need to be proactive and make sure that your furnace components are well functioning and that you don’t need to clean or do any other maintenance to your unit before the winter comes. Sometimes you can check on your filters yourself, but I personally like to call our local HVAC technician to come out and do a thorough check of our entire heating system about a month before the cold weather rolls in for the winter. I know that I hate the winter but I like being warm and toasty when the weather starts cooling off. My furnace has lasted for a long time, and I’m pretty sure it’s because we keep it well maintained and we have our HVAC tech out frequently to check stuff out.
