I just don’t like air conditioning

It took me over 20 years, but I have finally figured out that I don’t like AC.

I have the look of air conditioning, the smell and the feel of it.

Part of my hatred might be because I lived in the north and now I live in the south with an air conditioner lover. In the north, nobody owned air conditioning. Not even bigger businesses bothered with cooling equipment since only one month out of the year gets hot. I never experienced central air conditioning until I moved down south with my boyfriend. He loves that we have central AC and uses it all of the time. He wants the AC blasting on him while he sleeps, works out and eats. I think he must run a few degrees hotter since our place is arctic. I hate the feel of artificial cold. The house feels sort of wet like as well. I swear I can smell the refrigerant in it too. I don’t want to feel the air hit me when it comes out of the air vents either. If I lived alone, I never would own a cooling system. An evil part of me hopes everyday that the cooling system breaks and can’t be repaired. I don’t get any cooling service for it or even change an air filter. My boyfriend doesn’t maintain it either. I hate the air conditioner bad enough that I am willing to kill this very expensive machine. I know a lot of people down south swear by the cooling equipment, but I am not a fan.
