It was very comfortable during the day yesterday, so I had the window open. There was a nice breeze outside and I was happy to let some fresh air into the house. The window in the kitchen was open all day and I forgot to close it before I went to bed later that night. I woke up in the middle of the night and I went to the kitchen for a drink of water. It was incredibly cold and almost like ice. I immediately thought there was a problem with the furnace. I was so distraught that I woke up my husband and told him that the furnace was broken. He didn’t want to get out of bed, but he agreed to check on the problem. The first thing he did was look at the thermostat, which is in the living room. While he was checking on the thermostat, he noticed the window was open. As soon as he got closer to the window, he felt the temperature start to drop. There was nothing wrong with the heater in the house. As soon as the window was closed, the cold chill started to dissipate. I felt bad for waking up my hubby, especially since the problem wasn’t real. He didn’t get upset or angry. Instead, he made us both a hot cup of tea and we sat in the kitchen. We talked for a while and waited for the sun to come up. It was actually one of the nicer mornings that the two of us have shared in a long time.
