You ever heard the saying, “If you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen”? Well, that saying came to mind the other day when I was working in the kitchen at my site of work.
I work at this diner where the two of us have constantly had problems with the cooling system in that certain area.
The dining floor is constantly perfectly cooled, however the two of us never have enough cooling relief in the kitchen area. This a single woman who was trying to work was looking really pale and the two of us kept asking him if she was alright. I figured that she couldn’t handle the heat and I advocated she go to an section where she could know the cooling system. She said that she would be alright though and she carried on. She should have gotten a frigid drink or something and a little later she ended up falling to the floor when she had a bunch of plates in her hands. The plates went crashing to the floor and she was passed out. All of us had to call the ambulance to have him taken to the hospital. When the EMTs got there, they said the kitchen was way too overheated and the owner had to do something about that because it was entirely unsafe. All of us all agreed that the two of us needed some respected cooling system in there. So the owner had an Heating and A/C crew come in and install Heating and A/C zone control. This way the two of us were able to crank up the cooling system in the kitchen section so that the two of us were no longer overheated.
