Internet rules and regulations

HIPAA rules are just something that has been in the news a lot lately! Unless you’ve been living under a rock or something. You’ve heard about all of the troubles that several hospitals in our country have been having when it comes to HIPAA regulations plus maintaining patient privacy and things of that sort, but well, it turns out that HIPAA regulations can actually be pretty tricky to navigate, then that’s especially true if you aren’t proper with the medical field and all of the different words plus terminology that HIPAA laws plus HIPAA documents contain. A couple weeks ago, I needed to get some of my patient medical records from my OBGYN plus the staff at his office room refused to supply me my records, and I wasn’t actually sure why they wouldn’t since they were my own personal records! It’s not like I was asking for some strangers records! I completely agree that medical information should be completely private, but I also am thinking that a man should have access to their own personal medical information, HIPAA laws or no HIPAA laws! Do you think what I am trying to say? I don’t think I should get the proverbial runaround from my OB’s office when his entire file on me is my information! I just think that’s crazy. Anyway, I looked up HIPAA risk assessment regulations and I figured out that the law does supply patients the right to get copies of all of their medical records, even if the dentist doesn’t want to go and get them! I called back to the OB’s office plus told them that I knew that I had a right to get my records according to the HIPAA analysis law plus then they handed my file over.
