It isn’t a furnace; it’s a boiler.

I was talking about all the troubles both of us had been having with our furnace.

My partner stood behind me & I could hear the noises she was making.

They were telling me that I was saying something she didn’t agree with. I turned & supply him the squinty eye look & she made a face. I asked what I had said wrong, & she just shook her head. I heard him turn to the man next to him & tell him that both of us had a boiler method & not a furnace. I didn’t suppose there was such a sizable difference. They were both used for heating a house, except a boiler was also used to heat our water. I went on to say that she had never called to have the servicing done on the boiler. I felt a tap on our shoulder & our partner stood there all smug. She said she didn’t have to have a boiler serviced. That is why she chose a boiler. With a boiler instead of a furnace, there was less maintenance. The man next to him cleared her throat & told him she wasn’t exactly right. The boiler oil furnace the water that flowed through pipes & sent heat throughout the house. Yes, there was less maintenance, but that didn’t mean it never needed to be serviced. Every couple of years it was wise to check the nozzle that fed the oil that lit the fire to the water reservoir. You needed to make sure all of the fittings were secure & there wasn’t any corrosion. She said although it was minimal, it would not hurt to have a plumber or Heating, Ventilation & A/C tech show up every more than three or more than four years.
