It’s great being retired with a nice geothermal HVAC system

Many of my buddies suppose I am nuts. I have finally come to the close of a long and satisfying career. But, I have chosen the Midwest as the arena I want to spend my final years. Everyone figured I would head to a place with nothing but sunshine. It’s what most of my colleagues and peers have done. Yet, I was especially lucky to have lived in the Midwest for several years while I was in a part of my job. There was just something about the area I easily fell in love with. The people are completely laid back and the sense of community is something I have been looking for all my life. So, when I had the chance to purchase a great tract of land, I easily grabbed it up. As my job was winding down I was able to build our dream dwelling. The best section of the dwelling is the heating and cooling appliance I invested in. My lake dwelling is heated and cooled using a geothermal Heating and A/C appliance. This type of Heating and A/C appliance works by utilizing the earth’s near constant temperature to extract both heating and cooling energy. A loop which is actually buried beneath our lake dwelling pulls energy to convey to the heating and cooling system. During the winter months, the heat energy is transferred to water which runs through coils underneath the floors. This radiant heat is definitely the best. It is so cozy and the best thing of all is I can walk around barefoot throughout the whole year. When the temps drop way down, there is a supplemental gas furnace which helps to heat the water for the heat I use. The geothermal appliance is absolutely an investment. However, the utility savings will be rather significant. And I will be enjoying those savings for 30 years or perhaps longer. Yep, the Midwest is easily our final stop.
