Long days of driving

Last month, I interviewed for a new job with a long haul trucking company.

I have had my CDL license for 2 years. During that time I have worked for a couple of different companies. I do not prefer to be gone overnight, but most jobs that pay well will require it. Last month, I did not decide on taking a job that kept me out overnight. I only went to the interview, because my dad knew the owner of the company, and he thought it would be a fantastic opportunity for me. I went to the interview to talk to the woman. I really did not want to drive overnight or several days at a time, but the cash was too unbelievable to pass up. I got compensated for every mile that I drove and I also get paid for every hour I am behind the wheel. I will be toiling as a delivery driver for an industrial Heating and A/C products company. The industrial Heating and A/C products company has a large warehouse in this city. I am responsible for picking up Heating and A/C products from the warehouse and delivering them to the separate hubs around the state. On Fridays, I am responsible for driving to the next state. I have to make 1 delivery there each month and I am required to stay in the truck the whole time. The drive is several hours long there and several hours on the way home. I can’t even leave while the women are unloading. Thankfully, I have a toilet in the cab of my truck for emergencies. It’s a super long day on the road.
