When I first moved into my condo I decided to redo the floors. I ripped up the carpet and added tile floors in all the rooms except the bathrooms. I didn’t live in the space long before I decided I needed a better master bathroom. I got all brand new fixtures, lights, windows and added a new tile floor. It has been 5 years now and I have one more space to remodel and one more floor to go. I wish I would have waited on the rest of the house. It took myself and others years to realize that I actually want heated flooring. I could have done heated flooring installation throughout the numerous projects I did separate from a hitch. Ripping up the floors is required for this heating installation. The mats need to go under the tile. I can’t wind back the clock or destroy what I have done. All I can do is move forward and have radiant heating in the one bathroom… People are saying I am crazy. Why have radiant heat in just one room? Someday when I redo all the floors again, everything will have a oil furnace. I also want to try out the heating installation myself. A small bathroom is not as daunting as a kitchen. If I mess up, no pressing deal, I don’t have that gas furnace anywhere else. I guess the heating plan in the bathroom will feel great. The tub, bat mat and vanity will feel sizzling as a result. It is a silent heating plan so it can run while I am in bed at night. It also doesn’t move air so that means no dust or debris in the air quality.
