My boss promised to get a new furnace in September so it’s ready for autumn heating

He’s not late on paying the utility bills for the building, and he even goes out of his way to buy us pizza at least once a month as a token of his appreciation for our hard work.

I work for a small company doing data entry in the accounting department. We coordinate sales between logging companies and wood processing plants. Since there was a backlog of wood orders during the pandemic when so many workers were quarantined with the virus, we have been working overtime hours to catch up ourselves. I’m glad to see things are improving incrementally, but I wish we had more help at the same time. Two years ago we had an extra person in this office working as well, so it made the process much easier and I feel like I was privileged at the time without even realizing it. Now I can’t take anything for granted if I want to meet the quotas and deadlines that our boss sets forth for us. He does his best to keep things rolling on his end to his credit. He’s not late on paying the utility bills for the building, and he even goes out of his way to buy us pizza at least once a month as a token of his appreciation for our hard work. Right now he’s picking out a new furnace to install in the building and it will provide heat for all of the rooms inside. He says that the new furnace will be installed by September so it’s ready for early autumn heating when temperatures drop below 60 degrees fahrenheit outside. The furnace will be gas powered and should keep the office much warmer in the winter than the old one. I’m excited to be warmer this winter compared to the previous winters where I had to bundle up in extra clothing everyday when I left for work.
