My old apartment is now a commercial printer

I spoke to the manager of the commercial printers for a few minutes, and told him I used to live there

I grew up living upstairs from what was called a copy shop at the time. Back then technology wasn’t anywhere near where it is today, so mostly they just made photocopies. This was in the late 1970s, which really feels like a whole different world than the one we have now. We never even conceived of having a portable phone that could allow you to communicate with literally any person on the planet. I guess we weren’t very far past using mimeograph machines, with a hand crank! Recently I went back to my old hometown, and saw that the copy shop had expanded, and was now a sleek modern commercial printing service. They took over the whole building, my old apartment and the five others, just to make room for all the printers and laminators they needed. I actually went inside and walked around until I found my old place, which was not a section designated for tagless t-shirt digital printers. One of their many printing services was to make custom designed shirts for people, anyone who had a digital design could have it digitally printed on a cotton shirt! I thought this was pretty cool, but I don’t have any shirt ideas so I doubt I would use that particular printing service. I spoke to the manager of the commercial printers for a few minutes, and told him I used to live there. He was nice but he didn’t really care, and who could blame him the commercial printing business was too busy to really pay attention to my story.
