One thing no one ever seems to think about when building a new home is the lay out of the central heating and air conditioning system.
Or, if you are not going to have central heating and cooling, a lot of people just don’t even think about any kind of indoor comfort. This was almost the case when my parents were having their retirement home built. It was a good thing I was there when they were talking to the company that was setting up the construction and lay out! When they thought they were done they wanted to show me the blueprints. When I looked at them I asked them where was the ductwork for some kind of heating and air conditioning system? They both looked at me and were shocked! They had forgot about the central heating and air conditioning system they were going to have installed! Without the ductwork being laid they would not have been able to have any kind of central heating and air conditioning put in the new house! Not to mention it would have costed them a small fortune just to have ductwork laid after the building of the house. That would make it a much bigger job that the local heating and air conditioning company would have to do. With the construction company doing it, the ductwork for the central heating and air conditioning system would be included in the overall price of the house being built. My parents thanked me so much for seeing their mistake and took me out to an expensive dinner.
