I have to let people know that now is not the nicest time to be an agent… Scheduling walkthroughs and meetings is something that is not able to work, except via webcam and Facetimes and such.
I was just starting to genuinely get some real momentum going on with this agency, and then this virus came from out of nowhere and put everybody on lockdown for who knows how long.
I suppose my next step is trying to adapt to this as best I can. I still look out for our customers and myself, and the main complication is this — nobody even wants to look at business office rentals at a time when so many dealers are about to go under. Opening a business now would be pretty much like taking your seat when the Titanic was on the way down, so of course commercial office rentals are going to take a sizable hit like everyone else. If anything, artisan lofts for rent will surge tremendously, because a person can do well in a place where they can work and live. I think that going forward that sort of combined space, with living areas and business office rentals in the exact same structure will continue to grow a great deal in popularity. I don’t want to say that the world of business office rentals has changed entirely for good, but it most genuinely changed for now. Trying to remain on the cutting edge of this new era with an office section for rent will be a tremendous challenge, although I will certainly try. I need to continue to earn my rep as the best business office section rental agent around.
