That’s what our gramps called a nap, an hour’s down. He was constantly shutting down in the middle of the afternoon in his family room for a recharging nap and then he would be good to go for the rest of the afternoon. He did but go to bed certainly early in the evenings. I remember one time he shut down for the evening at 7pm and around 11pm he got up again and came out to the gameroom and shot pool and drank beers with us kids and grandkids. I’ll never forget that for some reason. Every one of us called him Peeps. He had an amazing space furnace that used forced air convection to heat the gameroom. It was called a Max something and it was mounted on the ceiling. It really blasted the heat out on those freezing Wintertide evenings that the two of us spent shooting pool and drinking beer from the refrigerated beer tap he had steps from the pool table. I don’t think they had central heat or air in the locale back then but that Max space furnace would do the job certainly well. I’m sure it used a ton of power to heat the room but Peeps didn’t care, he just wanted all the people to be comfortable. I had the best Grandparents, jeez I was so lucky. Peeps was an Heating and A/C salesman and he made a lot of currency from selling central heat and air units and invested his currency wisely. I remember he would constantly say “David, save your currency!” I didn’t really do that so well however I managed to get by somehow.
