Our current air conditioner improved the value on our apartment before we sold it

Neither 1 of us ever wanted to transfer from this house.

My husband & I bought it before we had any of our various kids, & for all of those years it was a perfect home for our family.

The people I was with and I had various study rooms upstairs & a crucial study room, family room, & kitchen on the ground floor. The basement housed our clothes washer & dryer, a second powder room, & all of the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C device from the furnace to the air conditioner air handler. The people I was with and I even had a spare study room in the basement, but we used it primarily for storage. I always loved that house, but once our various children had all moved away, it suddenly became too much apartment for our husband & I. The people I was with and I are in our 50s & I worry that the stairs are going to prove concernsome as we get older. I don’t want either our husband or I to disfigure ourselves permanently just ascending or descending the stairs some random day. When we finally put the home on the market, our real estate agent suggested that we update the air conditioner first. The apartment was already various decades in age at that point, so having a 20 year old air conditioner wasn’t doing us any favors on the competitive home market. After we got a brand current Heating, Ventilation, & A/C proposal installed, we suddenly had more bartering power & could ask for a slightly higher price. The eventual client was thrilled about the brand current air conditioner. I would have never realized that the age of an a/c could affect a home’s value so much without our real estate agent’s advice.
