The tepid tub and the mud pits were both heated with radiant tubes in the walls and they needed the heating unit to make them work.
Girly weekend is something we look forward to each year. We all leave our hubbys in charge of the kids for the 3 day trip and it is simply amazing. We always go to the same spa retreat because we prefer it there. As we have been there various times we never bothered to call and verify our reservation. We knew what to expect when we arrived and all we could believe of was the good massages and day mimosas. We checked in and headed to our rooms. When we walked in we found a notice from the front desk stating that our itinerary had changed. We still had our busy yoga classes, massages, and meals, but our tepid mud therapy session had been cancelled. It also said that the tepid tub was closed until further notice and we were all unquestionably annoyed. We always go to the retreat during the Winter and all of those sizzling therapy things are what we look forward to the most. I called the front desk to see why these things were unavailable and they said that the on demand tepid water plan that warmed both of these areas had broken and they were waiting for replacement parts. The tepid tub and the mud pits were both heated with radiant tubes in the walls and they needed the heating unit to make them work. She said that the mud was only around 65 degrees and they couldn’t allow anyone to go in at that temperature for fear of hypothermia setting in, however not that anyone would want to anyway. We couldn’t believe that the best part of our trip was not going to happen. The resort did provide us a credit towards next year’s trip but we will make sure to call ahead next time to make sure everything is operational.
