When it comes to starting an HVAC business, it can be incredibly intimidating.
Let’s face it, about 8 out of 10 small businesses actually fail in the first 5 years, so you really have to be strategic about making your business a success.
You want to go into the business with the mindset that you are going to be successful. You don’t want to say that you’re just going to give it a shot and see how you do. With a mindset like that, you are bound to not be successful. One very important thing is to make sure you have a good talk with your spouse about starting your own HVAC company. Without the support of your spouse, you will be so stressed out that you might lose out on sleep and not have your head in the game. When starting a business, you are going to be focusing on finances, advertising, startup fees, and employees. It’s a good idea to start small and to save up enough money to get by in case you don’t do well. You have to have a plan for everything because you can never be sure how things are going to go. You will have to work through all the hurdles to get going with your HVAC business. You will need proof of minimum HVAC experience. You will need to take a state contractor’s license test. You will need to fill out an application for a state contractor’s license when you pass the test. Then of course, you will have to pay plenty of fees. It’s not an easy thing to achieve, but if you really plan ahead with starting your HVAC business and you believe in yourself, you can be successful!
