Staying fit to feel young

Although I’m now in my fifties, I often get mistaken for someone younger

Throughout my life, I’ve followed a dedicated workout program and conscientious diet. Even when I was a little girl, I was extremely active and my family ate very healthy meals. I’ve continued this lifestyle as an adult. I never eat fast food or red meats and concentrate on vegetables, fruits, lean proteins and whole grains. I make sure to incorporate a variety of vitamins and minerals and avoid coffee, alcohol, tobacco and all types of drugs. I stick to a strict schedule of when I got to bed at night and get up in the morning, making sure to get between 6 and 8 hours of sleep. I carry a water bottle around with during the day to stay properly hydraged. Every day, I spend around an hour on strenuous physical activity. I include a diverse selection of exercises in my workout in order to work different muscles and joints. By devoting plenty of time to a thorough warm up and stretch, I’m rarely sore and avoid injury. My workouts include strength training with free weights, kettlebells and resistance bands. I often add in push-ups, squats, lunges and pull-ups. I’m very conscientious about strengthening my core for the sake of balance. A high-intensity cardio session gets my heart pumping for approximately thirty minutes. Although my lifestyle requires quite a bit of discipline, it keeps me in good physical and mental shape. Although I’m now in my fifties, I often get mistaken for someone younger. I haven’t needed to give up on any of my hobbies or slowed down in any way.
