I recently gutted my kitchen and completely changed it… One thing I did was make the whole back wall windows, but i wanted the extra natural light and I knew it would look lovely, and for a while I appreciated the brightly lit kitchen, then when the sunrise and sunset times changed, I realized I didn’t take that into consideration, but now when I cook I have sunlight blazing directly into my eyeah.
It is impossible to wash dishes or use that whole back wall. It is also harshly moderate in the kitchen to where I don’t want to use the stove or the burners on top of it. I have thought about adding in a ductless mini cut however my hubby came up with a brilliant solution… She told myself and others that problems were the windows, not the home insulation. The people I was with and I needed to darken the windows. I started looking up adding colors to my windows. I didn’t know if there was such a thing. Turns out there is… You can get window tinting for a reasonable cost. You can even get a sunlight control window movie that blocks the light from coming in. It will still be a brightly lit room, just not totally moderate and stuffy like before. I can make the outside windows look dark too for privacy if I want. I don’t think I want to do this though. I like the plan of having my normal windows, however controlling the sun. I think technically that means I am doing a sunlight control window movie. It shouldn’t be too much money.
