When I had my routine seasonal check-up for the Heating plus Air Conditioning system, the repair serviceman warned me about buying “knock-off” control device online, and she told me that there was no shortage of online merchants that would start selling their own version of temperature controls, window air conditioner units, and various other topics.
All of these were very low quality investments, as they were cheaply made plus often broke within a month of use! While I listened when the Heating plus Air Conditioning repair serviceman told me this one day, I was not able not fight off the desire of a cheap smart temperature control! Since brand-name smart temperature controls can cost thousands of dollars to buy, plus even more to install, it seemed love a steal to get a “smart temperature control” at a fraction of the cost.
When the smart temperature control finally stopped over by the mail various weeks later, I began to see what the repair serviceman was talking about, and aside from the fact that the box had genuinely no italian text somewhere carefully describing how to install the smart temperature control, the actual component inside the box felt super light – as if there was nothing inside of it. When I looked up a video online showing how to install a smart temperature control, I discovered that this component had none of the parts that were shown in the video. To be totally transparent, this component had virtually no indication of even being a digital temperature control! I was pretty pissed off about this, due to the fact that I had still paid just under one-hundred dollars for this equipment. When I reached out to the seller online, I was told that they had a strict policy regarding all sales being non negotiable. I felt as if a fool, but I absolutely learned my lesson. Thermostats are just one of those things that you don’t want to be frugal!
