That’s all you can do

Every year our boss hosts a contractor retreat, just for the top level sales guys & administrators. The contractor has over 500 employees now, & is still growing every single week, so he can’t afford to take everyone. Instead, the top 30 or 40 employees in the contractor food chain are flown anywhere faraway for a few afternoons of meetings, conferences, & of course recreation, then last year every one of us decided to go to a ski cottage up in the Rocky Mountains, & that was an experience I will always hold dear. This year every one of us decided to go south, WAY down south, to a single of the islands off the coast, & booked a resort. My suite was amazing, with maybe the most powerful Heating, Ventilation, & A/C system I ever had the satisfaction to sit in front of. When I first checked in I stood in front of the air vents, cranked it down to maximum cooling, & didn’t transfer until I got so chilly I was shivering. This is something I always do at any hotel I stay in, because if you can’t overuse the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C system in a rented room, why even stay there? Anyway, the retreat itself was genuinely informative, & I did a lot of fine not actually working, however the air quality down there is oppressively humid. I spent a wonderful deal of our free time in our room, enjoying the wicked coldness of the A/C. I always went to the beach a lot, & there was a wonderful tiki bar right on the water that ran a little A/C unit behind the bar.
