Last month, our neighbors had a disappointing fire that not only destroyed their home, but destroyed our unit.
The heat of their fire singed the siding plus roof of our house.
I never expected the fire to melt some components inside our unit. When I called the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C corporation to inspect our unit, they told me it needed to be updated. The A/C component was only multiple years old, plus I could not figure out why it suddenly needed updated? He told me that the high heat of the beach house fire next to us had worked almost love a torch plus melted some components together. He said he had never seen such a thing happen, but that was the only thing he could come up with. My question was, did I call our insurance corporation to cover the unit, or would i bet covered by our neighbors’ homeowners’ insurance? I talked to our neighbor plus told him what had happened to the unit. He was noticeably aggravated about our A/C component plus promised he would call his insurance dealer. In the meantime, I called our insurance dealer. I explained about the neighbors’ beach house fire plus how the heat of the beach house fire had destroyed our unit. They asked for me to get a statement from the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C Tech who had done the inspection, plus they would then pay for our A/C unit. After I received our new A/C unit, they would contact the beach house owner’s insurance plus get paid back.
