The HVAC is smoking

I entirely enjoy doing landscaping outside! Landscaping is a good release for me especially on the weekends… I have a desk job and I don’t get out of the office that much while in the week, but so being able to work outside in the flower beds and design what plants and flowers I want to put around our condo is an exciting thing for me, but plus I just recently purchased a zero turn sod mower and it has made laboring outside even better! When I was cutting our grass near the outdoor component I was surprised to see steam coming from our outdoor unit, however my a/c was on because I set the temperature control to 74° because of how hot it was outside.

I wasn’t sure why steam was coming from our outdoor component I was thinking that maybe it was due to our heat pump going into defrost mode… However the component should not be going into defrost mode.

It did not make any sense to me why it would even go in that mode in the first location. So to clear up any confusion and get the problem resolved as soon as possible I called our local heating and cooling serviceman to take a look at the issue. It was a great thing that I did that because it turns out that the outdoor component had a terrible outdoor fan motor! This was something that I would not have been able to service myself so I was lucky that our heating and cooling serviceman was able to come out that morning to problem solve and service the terrible fan motor.
