My hubby and I recently moved an hour down south to a easily small town.
There are only multiple traffic lights and three steakhouses, however you can only get pizza in a single stadium and your haircut at another.
The small town life is easily fun. Everything is quiet and safe. My hubby and I could afford a bigger ploy of land to have privacy. There are some cons to small town life. Any type of contractor doesn’t need to rely on SEO, only word of mouth. So when I start looking for a window installer, I can’t find any online presence. I either need to hire someone an hour away or start asking people. The worst was finding a Heating and A/C dealer. I tested online and contractor cards posted outside the hardware store. There was nothing. I called Heating and A/C dealers an hour away however they wanted to charge myself and others for the drive. I started asking people at the bank, the gym and the local hardware store on who to call. Everyone told myself and others to call Mike… Nobody had his cellphone number, only where his apartment was. I felt absolutely weird about driving to some guy’s apartment and asking for Heating and A/C service, however that is what I did. Small town life is apparently love that. Mike wasn’t surprised at all by myself and others and came right over to my apartment with his toolset. There was no Heating and A/C van, outfit or website, however the guy was good. Next time I need a Heating and A/C tune up or repair, I just need to stop by his apartment and ask for it. It is weird, however that is how this town works apparently.
