The odor of the heat pump

My heat pump has been pretty relaxing to me through the years, especially in the summer season. This particular Summer was exceptionally sizzling & humid however, & that ended up leading to quite the unpleasant concern that had never happened to me in the before. This repulsive odor began to develop, slowly however surely, in the air of our dwelling as the Summer went on. This horrible odor had the pungency of dirty socks, & mind you, I clean mine officially, so it could not have been that at all. Seeing as I keep our dwelling & our laundry perfectly clean, I began to suspect something else might be the problem! I figured out the odor was coming from our Heating & Air Conditioning appliance & it was becoming irritating enough so I decided to call a Heating & Air Conditioning appliance worker to figure out what was going on. The moment the Heating & Air Conditioning appliance guy walked through the door & detected the terrible smell, he instantaneously knew what the concern was. The dirty sock smell was coming from the indoor coil & drain pan of the heat pump. The reason that the odor was originating from these venues was easily simple. The moderate & damp environment of the evaporator coil & drain pan can easily lead to the growth of mold & other microbes that end up thriving in these kinds of conditions. It easily made sense that mold was the culprit for these extreme smells. I had all those parts cleaned out thoroughly & made the choice to also invest in an air filtration system for our dwelling.
