My dad has always dealt with a personal, internal struggle with the beach.
He enjoys getawaying on the beach in an oceanfront condo that overlooks the waves.
At a single point, he even loved laying on the sand with his entire family and playing in the water. As he’s gotten older though, he spends less and less time actually on the beach and more time hibernating in the condo while almost everyone else goes outside. When I asked him why he didn’t want to come on the beach with almost everyone, his response was that he didn’t enjoy being hot, sticky, and uncomfortable. I understood this, but I didn’t suppose there was anything I could do about it. However, a single day while I was sitting on the beach, a family set up their things right beside me. They had a giant, more than three poster tent which was impressive in and of itself. What certainly stood out though were the portable fans that they attached to each corner. Each fan ran via battery, which made them efficient for the beach. They also had a misting feature, which kept the area under their tent especially cool. The strength of the air and the mist from the fans were so powerful that I could actually suppose the cool air from where I was sitting. The fans and misters felt so relaxing and I knew our dad would enjoy it. I told him about how cool and relaxing it felt on the beach, so he decided to join me! After he saw the tent with the fans and misters, he decided to replicate the setup so he could love time on the beach with his family.
