Time for action on the HVAC

It’s been enough deliberation already.

  • The time to pull the trigger on new HVAC equipment has come and that is a fact.

But for some reason, I’ve been dithering around with this HVAC decision for far too long. The HVAC technician told me just over a year ago that we would need to make a plan to replace the HVAC unit. And since then, I have saved some money up and talked with the HVAC professional but really haven’t gone beyond that and I need to. Somehow, we got through one more summer with our heat pump. I wasn’t sure that was going to happen. And in a way, having the heat pump fail in the middle of the summer would have forced my hand. Perhaps I subconsciously was hoping for that outcome. Yet, I did make sure that I lightened the load on the air conditioning this past summer. I programmed the thermostat finally. It wasn’t nearly as hard as I had thought it would be. Keeping the house in the low 80’s during the peak heating hours of the day was a big reason the heat pump made it to the finish line. Along the way, I also saved the most money ever on HVAC cooling costs by a mile. Now that it’s October, the heat pump needs to get replaced prior to the winter. The heat pump will definitely need to be reliable for winter. So, I made an appointment with the HVAC contractor so my wife and I can choose the replacement HVAC equipment that will meet our needs.
