Trying yoga because I am injured

I must look like the type of person that does yoga. Any girl I meet immediately starts talking about yoga class and trying to get me to join thiers. I have been reluctant to try because I do not feel it is a good work out. Yoga doesn’t exactly give you a good cardio workout where you break a sweat. There is no weight lifting portion in class. Basically it is stretching and the body holds to tighten core strength. I don’t think it is a totally pointless work out, but I don’t think it is one of the best. I lately have been considering doing it though. I recently injured myself working out. My shoulder hurts so bad that I can’t run, lift weights or do any of my usual stuff. I don’t want to give up doing something physical. I did a little research and found that I can do yoga poses quite easily without hurting me. I also think doing the stretches might in fact help out my shoulder. If all else fails, it is good that I am resting the muscle rather than further irritating it. I sort of want to backpack onto my yoga session with a little meditation. There is a relaxation portion to yoga that does appeal to me. I work a lot of hours on the computer and I am stressed to the max. I think taking a moment each day to calm myself and be at peace would be smart. I might end up feeling stupid just sitting cross legged on the floor. But, I am willing to give yoga and try and see what all the hype is about.
