I am just grateful that the gas furnace is working again, both of us can put away our space heaters, and there was not something seriously wrong with the gas furnace
I felt legitimately stupid last week. Let me preface by saying that both of us moved into a new lake house about 6 weeks ago… Things were going great; there were a few repairs needed but no much. Then, last week, the gas furnace completely stopped working. It simply would not turn on at all… My partner and I pulled a few space heating systems out of storage and then both of us called up a furnace repair business… Because of the sudden drop in temperature, the corporation could not come out for 2 whole nights; Needless to say, by the time they arrived, both of us were both getting fatigued of residing without heat. That is what makes this so funny. The serviceman simply took our control device off of the wall, updated batteries in the back of it, and the gas furnace kicked right on. I didn’t even feel that our control device had batteries. I thought it was hooked up to the wiring in the wall prefer in our outdated house. I ended up having to pay $74 just to have a furnace repairman come to our lake house and update the batteries in our control unit. That is something both of us entirely could have done ourselves, then well at least now both of us know. I can’t help but laugh about it. I am just grateful that the gas furnace is working again, both of us can put away our space heaters, and there was not something seriously wrong with the gas furnace. I feel it will take us a few years to learn all of the ins and outs of this house. I just hope both of us don’t pay for any other unnecessary repairs in the meantime.
