Every year, my extended family rents a cabin up north and we spend an entire week together.
This year, it was my dad’s turn to book the cabin for everyone.
We always rotate between who books the cabin so that the responsibility isn’t heavy on just one person. Typically, we stay in the same few cabins because we know them and it’s easy to return. This year however, all our usual cabins were booked during the week that we wanted to visit, so my dad had to find something else. When we arrived, we read the owner’s manual to find all the details about the cabin and the surrounding area. It wasn’t until I found a section about the ductless mini split systems that I realized my dad had booked a cabin without central heat and air! The only source of air was from the select ductless mini split units throughout the cabin. There was one in the living room, the hallway, and each of the bedrooms. Nobody in our family had used a ductless mini split system before, so we read the manual and tried our best to learn how to use them efficiently. I was expecting the ductless mini split units to be difficult to use, but I was pleasantly surprised. There was a remote that made changing the settings easy, and they were quick to cool their designated spaces. Overall, I think everyone was satisfied with the ductless mini split units, even though we’d never used them before.
