My wife Clara and I have decided that we want to buy a little cabin somewhere up in the mountains.
Clara doesn’t seem to care very much about how many bedrooms it has or anything like that, but she really wants the place to have a fireplace in it.
I told her that I don’t think it would be very hard to find a cabin with a fireplace because I just feel like most cabins already have a fireplace built in. Of course, there is always a chance that I don’t even know what I’m talking about. It’s not like I’ve ever had to go log cabin shopping before. I would just assume that most cabins out in the woods would already have a fireplace built in. I might be wrong, but I hope that I’m not. But I would really like for our whole shopping experience for a new cabin to be easy. I hope that it will not be stressful at all. I personally would like to find a place that has a high efficiency heating and cooling system in it, but Clara doesn’t seem to care one bit about that. She said she doesn’t even care if we have a heating system in the cabin at all, as long as it has a wood burning fireplace in it. I guess she assumes that I will be the one chopping all the wood, stacking all the wood, and making all the fires. I don’t know how I feel about that. I don’t really know if I’m that interested in having a wood burning fireplace as our only source of heating. I want to live in a cabin in the woods, but I’m not exactly what you would call a mountain man.
